Transnational Heritage & Civic Memory Initiative
The Transnational Heritage & Civic Memory Initiative is a core research and preservation program coordinated by the Belarusian Representative Assembly (BRA) and hosted on the Dacha Archive platform.
The initiative was established to document, preserve, and restore historical truth within the global cultural record. Operating at the intersection of digital archiving, historical research, and international cultural diplomacy, the program serves as a decentralized hub for recording civic movements, analyzing cultural erasure, and safeguarding national identity across borders.
Core Strategic Objectives
- Historical Justice & Decolonization: Researching and correcting institutional misattributions in European art history and museum archives, ensuring that non-imperial identities, historical origins, and regional contexts are accurately represented.
- Digital Memory Preservation: Consolidating databases, historical chronicles, and legal monitoring records into secure, accessible repositories to counteract censorship and historical revisionism.
- Transatlantic & Cultural Diplomacy: Building intellectual and cultural bridges between international diasporas, local civil societies, and historical movements for freedom—from the heritage of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to global democratic networks.
- Field Research & Working Group Repositories: Maintaining a structured, permanent archive of ongoing working group materials, regional expeditions, community forums, and local civic documentation.
Archival Integration
As part of the broader Dacha Assembly ecosystem, this initiative connects historical research with active civic infrastructure.
